4 Things You Can Do To Overcome Inconsistency With Your Fitness and Nutrition

Too often I hear people talk about it is hard to keep consistent with their fitness or nutrition. ⁣

Yes I have been there too…⁣

Here I share 4 things you can do, which has helped my clients and me (yes I use them too!) overcome inconsistency.⁣

𝟏. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞⁣

Go through your daily schedule, keep a record for a week. Then work out what time of the day you feel most energized and also is realistic for you.⁣

If setting aside 30 mins for yourself a day is not possible, can you break it down into 2 x 15 mins workouts throughout the day?⁣

The point is ….you need to find a way that works for YOU…and schedule it in.⁣

Do not rely on your willpower. We know that when life gets busy, willpower is usually the last thing on our minds!⁣

𝟐. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨⁣

You need to incorporate at least 80% of the workout that you love doing in your program. ⁣

If you do not enjoy the type of exercises you are doing, chances are, you are not going to stick with it.⁣

⁣The workout should not be like ‘torture’ for you. Yes, there might be some ‘off’ days and it is completely normal. But most of the time, it should be something you look forward to, enjoy, and feel good about it afterwards!⁣

𝟑. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 /𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 ⁣

Forget about the quick fix. You can only follow a shake or grapefruit diet for so long. You can only follow a no fat, no carb, no sugar, no anything diet for so long.⁣

Ask yourself: “Can I see myself eating this way for the next 2, 5 or 10 years?”⁣

If the answer is no, then whatever result you get, is not going to be sustainable.⁣

Your nutrition plan has to be practical. Life is short, there is no good food or bad food. ⁣

Focus on the quality of food. Make sure to get all the nutrients your body need. Enjoy the favourite food you love and know when to stop. ⁣

Forget about calorie counting (unless you love it!). It is never accurate and depends on so many factors. It can be misreported by up to 25% or by 1000 calories a day! ⁣

There are many other ways to count energy intake. Learning portion control is the simplest and most effective way! ⁣

𝟒. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲⁣

How many times have you made promises to yourself and broke them with all sorts of excuses?⁣

There’s a huge difference between knowing what to do, and actually doing it. ⁣

That is where accountability and support come into play. ⁣

Right support and guidance will get you to your goal much quicker! It will help you pick yourself up when you fall off track (and you know you will at some point). ⁣

Most importantly, you will shape up your mindset, understand your deep ‘why’ and change your lifestyle habits. That is the key to ensuring you get a long-lasting result and live a healthy, fit and happy life!⁣
